In today’s Marketing Sherpa newsletter there is this line from a review of a new book called “Sales Autopsy”:

Culled from his 600+ collection of blunders and sales-gone-wrong stories, Seidman also gives seven ways world-class professionals distinguish themselves from salespeople.

So, there’s your choice: you can be a salesperson or a “world-class professional”. You can’t be both.

It won’t surprise you to learn that we don’t agree with this at First Border. After all, a “world-class professional” is just another way of describing the Entrepreneurial Salesman.

What do you think?
